Micronix Blackbird and Eagle RTUs possess extraordinary capabilities and provide cost effectiveness by offering additional functionality that match features normally found in PLC (small to medium-sized PLC systems), Dist I/O (easily expandable through modular design) and DIN-Rail PC (choice of embedded operating system, multiple communications protocols).

Railways
Micronix RTUs have documented experience ensuring 100% safe railways crossings cost-effectively by controlling signalling equipment and monitoring their operation. The telemetry solution enables the customer to safely monitor a vast and widespread railway network and a substantial amount of crossings without fault and at a minimum of effort and cost.
Traffic Flow
Micronix RTUs controls traffic lights to facilitate minimal traffic stops, traffic jams etc. A key feature is the 'Green Wave', allowing drivers to avoid red lights in cities as long as speed limits are adhered to. Our RTUs can also be used for Tank monitoring vis-a-vis petrol stations.
Weather reporting
Our RTUs can both monitor weather conditions and take appropriate action immediately. For example, if wind speeds exceed certain limits, our RTUs will make bridge crossings safer for trafficants by automatically turning on warning lights and/or closing gates to restrict access for all or certain types of vehicles.
Transportation
Micronix RTUs provide customer-defined container monitoring (E.g. temperature, humidity, etc.) for mobile units, and facilitates extensive track & trace functionality. Applicable for both land, sea and air freight. For example, the Micronix RTU could enable a carrier of live animals to allow customers or authorities to monitor temperature, oxygen level, food/water supply, feaces level, noise levels etc. at all times during transportation to demonstrate and document adherence to regulations. The RTU can be programmed to send notifications/alarm if threshold values are exceeded.
